The GeoFlo Summit was started in 2019 with the purpose of bringing together the geospatial (Geo) community of West-Central Florida (Flo). The inaugural event was held in November as a GIS Day event hosted by the regional GIS user groups. It was held at UF/IFAS Plant City and had 130 attendees, 11 presentations, a Map-a-thon, a Map Gallery, and multiple sponsor and vendor booths.

The event went virtual in 2020, which expanded the reach beyond Florida to national and international community. GeoFlo Summit remained virtual in 2021 and 2022. During those years we saw a roughly 50/50 spilt of new and returning attendees.

The 5th Annual GeoFlo Summit was back in person in 2023 as as a hybrid event held at the UF/IFAS Gulf Coast Research & Education Center

In 2023 GeoFlo Summit Inc. registered as a non-profit in the State of Florida. The mission is to provide an educational forum within the geographic and geospatial industry that encourages involvement and influences users to learn, share, and grow.
